Lenskart Refunds: Returning the Parcel

Earlier, I ordered a pair of eyeglasses from lenskart; but the eyeglasses didn’t look good on me, so I decided to return my eyeglasses and get a refund.

Lenskart offers a 14 days return policy on all products. But the products must be returned with original sealed box, instruction papers, warranty & other accessories (if any).

Here is the photo of the eyeglasses which I am returning back.

Lenskart Return Package

I had an online chat with Pankaj (from lenskart) who told me to pack the parcel and drop it off to any Bluedart office in Jaipur. He also told me that I will not be charged any shipping charge for returning the parcel.

To return the parcel back to lenskart; you need to do the following:

  1. Fill out the “Returns Form” completely – write your full name, complete address, phone number and order number. Also, Pankaj (online chat representative from lenskart) told me to write down “Centralized Account code – 114354” on the returns form. But it was not mentioned anywhere else on the package to write it down (which confused me).
  2. Pack the products properly with “return label” which you have received along with your order.
  3. Now you need to hand over the parcel to the courier company.

So, I was on my way to the BlueDart office in Jaipur and wanted to confirm if I had done everything right. So, I used lenskart online chat and asked if everything was done correctly. Now, this time; Pankaj from lenskart said “We do not provide free return in your area. So you need to pay for “return shipping” and we will refund you UPTO Rs.100 as a courier refund.”

He said, “We provide Bluedart drop down facility for free in selected areas only.” According to him, Lenskart only provides free drop down facility in Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad and Bangalore.

Now I was a little pissed off with Lenskart as earlier Pankaj told that shipping is “absolutely free of cost”, but now he was saying that I “need to pay for shipping (although they will credit my lenskart account with courier refund UPTO Rs 100)”.

I asked him if I can send the parcel through FirstFlight as BlueDart office is quite far from my residence ( as I need to pay money to Bluedart too, why should I go so far?). He said that’s okay. So, I printed out 2 invoices for the parcel (as courier companies do not deliver without invoices).

Finally, after spending around 2 hours just to prepare my parcel to return it back; I handed over the package to FirstFlight couriers. Although the whole process was very tiring, but I was happy to finally set the parcel apart from my side.

After a few days, I got a call from Lenskart and their representative told me that they have received the parcel. Also, he asked me if I wanted the refund amount to be credited to my bank account Or my lenskart account. I told them to credit it to my bank account.

Regarding the courier charges, he told me to send a photo of the courier receipt so that they can send the courier charges. So, I sent them the receipt (photo below):

And after a few days, I got a cheque of Rs. 84 (for the courier charges) and also; the money was refunded back to my bank account.  So, in the end; I think it is worth giving lenskart a shot if you feel that their store has an item you loved. 🙂
